Denis Stamper Lawson is most familiar to the UK public for TV series such as Holby City, Bleak House and New Tricks but his most famous role was as Wedge Antilles, Rebel alliance fighter pilot in all three of the original Star Wars films, aiding in the destruction of both the first and second Death Stars.
He not only played a key supporting role in the Star Wars movies but has other connections you may not know of. As a teenager, Denis shared accommodation with and went to drama school with Ian McDiarmid - Emperor Palpatine, and if you think that’s interesting you may also be surprised to know that he is the uncle of Ewan McGregor - Obi Wan Kenobi in the prequel trilogy!
Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Star Wars, Denis will be joined on stage in our 40 Years of Star Wars panel alongside actors from all three trilogies including Ian McDiarmid - Emperor Palpatine, Dave Prowse - Darth Vader, Ken Colley - Admiral Piett, Joonas Suotamo - Chewbacca, Jeremy Bulloch & Daniel Logan - Boba Fett.
Denis doesn’t make many convention appearances so this opportunity to meet him shouldn’t be missed.
Denis will be attending For The Love of Sci-Fi 2017 on both days of the event.
