tron  lightcycle

As we're 80's mad here at For the Love of Sci-Fi we've just added a really cool new prop & set build - a lightcycle from the 2010 film Tron: Legacy.

These futuristic looking bikes were first seen in the 1982 Disney movie Tron, starring Jeff Bridges and Manchesters very own Michael Warner. A groundbreaking film for its time, one of the first to use extensive computer generated imagery for special effects - John Lasseter, head of Pixar said that without Tron there would be no Toy Story.

Originally created by Syd Mead, (designer on Blade Runner, Aliens and Star Trek) the 2010 versions of the lightcycle were updated to embrace a newer, sleeker look more in line with modern expectations of what is futuristic.

With cool neon glowing lights, sound effects and music this beautiful vehicle will be displayed on a backdrop similar to The Grid seen in the films.

Please note this is a fan built prop, it is not endorsed by or associated with Disney in any way.
