For the Love of Sci-Fi is an independently run fan convention put on by fans for fans. We have no affiliation with any other film or production company.
The event is a meeting ground for like minded fans young and old, from all over the world to come together and celebrate their love for all things Sci-Fi.
The event is a fun packed two days of props & exhibits, guest signers, photo opportunities, Q&A sessions, cosplay, merchandise stalls, gaming, musical entertainment, kids entertainment & much more.

If you are looking to stay over during the event weekend then we have some pre-selected Hotels we recommend that are close by.
Parking is free at the venue, we have a limited number of parking places which will be reserved for staff, traders and disabled customers so please come down early to ensure a space. There is free overflow parking on neighbouring roads. Please be aware that if anyone tries to charge you for parking they are not authorised by or associated with For the Love of Sci-Fi, please report any suspicious activity of this kind to a Sci-Fi staff member.
For general admission, all children 3 years old and under do not need a ticket. They are free every day, and must be accompanied by an adult.
All children that are between 4-15 years old need to purchase a child ticket. All children 15 years and under, must have a valid child ticket and be accompanied by an adult. Please be prepared to show proof of age on entry.
Everyone 16 years and older must purchase an adult ticket in order to attend. Please note, we recommend all children under 18 attend with an adult. There are discounts for students and OAP’s who will need to show proof of being a student or proof of pension on entry.
If you buy an autograph or photgraph ticket for an actor, this does not entitle you to entry to the event. You need to buy a general admission day ticket to enter the event.
For the Love of Sci-Fi will provide a half price ticket to carers/personal assistants of fans who are attending that have a medical disability to accompany them in the venue. The person with disability will need to buy a full price general admission ticket, it is only the carer/personal assistant who is entitled to a half price ticket. In order to receive this additional discounted ticket the personal assistant needs to be on the carer's register which we will need proof of. Yes they do, For the Love of Sci-Fi does not have any say in this, or gain any revenue from the actors charging for autographs and photos, and is at their own discretion. Signing prices are not included in the entry fee. Occasionally actors will cancel due to work commitments, but this is very rare. We do not accept responsibility for cancellations.
Yes it will. We have a specialist team taking guest photos. When your photo has been taken you will be directed to the designated photo collection point, where your high quality photo will be printed off in less than a few minutes.
You can buy autographs and photos on the day, but some actors may sell out, especially photographs so it is advisable to buy in advance. Anyone who has purchased an autograph ticket will get priority queuing over people paying on the day. The photograph charge is per person. The maximum amount of people allowed in a photo shoot is two. So for example two people can stand either side of the guest, but both people in the shoot will need to pay for a photo ticket. Infants and toddlers between the ages 1-3 years can be included in the picture at no extra cost.

You can buy autographs at the table of the guest on the day, but the more popular guests will sell out so it is advised to buy in advance. They also sometimes can increase their price on the day, this is unusual but it can happen, another benefit of buying upfront.
If you pre buy a ticket you will take your eticket to the queue of that guest where it will be scanned and you receive your autograph in person from the guest. If you do not have an eticket you can pay in cash at the guest table. Etickets will take priority over pay on the day.
At the table the guest will have a selection of photographs for you to choose from which they will sign. This photo is included in the price you have paid for the autograph. You can bring in items to be signed, but there may be an extra charge for the signing of premium items. For example, if you pre purchase a £55 ticket for Dolph Lundgren’s autograph, and you then bring in a boxing glove for him to sign, he may charge an extra £10 on top of this as this is a premium item. By getting a glove signed it will increase the value of that item, so this is taken into account. On the other hand if you bring in a picture of your own to get signed, they will not charge you any extra. This is solely at the discretion of the guest at the table. The maximum extra charge for premium items will be £10
Most actors will also sell selfies at their tables; again these are at the actor’s discretion on the day, at the table.

The perfect memento and a real genuine keepsake from the day you got to meet your favourite actor. The photo will be instantly developed for you to walk away with within minutes from our photo studio. No waiting around until the end of the day or for it to be posted to you, it is issued almost instantly on the spot.
People who have purchased a ticket in advance will be the only customers allowed to join the queue for the first half of each signing session. After half the session has passed paying customers on the day can then join the queue. So for example if there is a 30 min photo session, payers on the day will be able to join the queue after 15 minutes. Please note that if you are paying on the day for photos please have the right cash ready to pay at the ticket booth. There will be two photo sessions for each guest per day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

Your photo will be taken by a professional photographer in front of a backdrop with lighting to ensure the picture is of the best quality possible. You will be standing next to the guest and not have anything else in the picture; this excludes shoots where they are with vehicles or set builds. The picture will be issued within minutes on a 6” by 9” colour photo (not an inkjet print).
The photograph charge is per person, you receive one photo each. You can have as many people in the picture as you like. So for example two people can stand either side of the guest, but both people in the shoot will need to pay for a photo ticket. Infants and toddlers between the ages 1-3 years can be included in the picture at no extra cost. The reason the cost is per person is due to the huge expense of putting these shoots on. If we charged per group for this level of guest, these shoots would be financially impossible. If this year the shoots work out financially, next year we are looking at having children included in the picture for free.
FTLOSF reserves the right to refuse anyone from taking part in the photo shoot. If payment has already been taken, we will issue a full refund. We also reserve the right to change the day and times of the photo shoot if it at all becomes necessary, subject to guest changes.
No. Special guest panels and Q&A sessions are included in the cost of your entry fee. We would advise you keep an eye on stage times and arrive early before the panel you would like to attend, as we cannot guarantee everyone will get a seat. Disabled, elderly or pregnant customers will have priority.
The schedule for our Sci-Fi LIVE stage has now been released, it may change slightly before the event however due to last minute changes so please keep checking back here. The whole ground floor is wheelchair friendly and has ramps. However the cantina space bar is on the first floor. Sadly the venue does not have elevators so the cantina is not accessible. However we will do everything we can to help disabled people up the stairs including those in wheelchairs if they sign a disclaimer to say this is done at their own risk and liability.
If all the excitement gets a little too much for you or your child with the noise and crowds, we have hired in an inflatable dome with comfy seating and bean bags for them to relax and calm down. We will also upon request get a costume group member to meet the children on their own in the dome away from the hustle and bustle. We are an autistic friendly event and know how easy it is for some children and adults to experience sensory overloads.
We have hired in two inflatable domes to allow people to get changed, a separate changing area for males and one for females. A cloakroom is also provided for valuables, to allow cosplayers to be able to freely walk around the venue in costume. The cloakroom will be charged at £2.
Compliance to this policy is mandatory for everybody and no exceptions will be made. Anybody breaking these rules can have their tickets withdrawn with no refund offered. Prohibited items are;
The 10% fee on general admission tickets covers firstly the card processing fees, and merchant charges the bank impose. The rest of the money goes towards a dedicated customer services team working 7 days a week manning call centres 12 hours per day for queries regarding peoples tickets. On the day you will see very expensive scanning equipment which run off wifi which we have to get upgrade due to the amount of tickets to be scanned on the day, it also goes towards numerous tech staff to man these machines. The event does not gain any revenue from this and without rapidscan eticket equipment like this these events would not be possible to put on. The £1 charge on an auto and photo covers the merchant charge to the bank, and the £1 to print tickets off again covers the above.
