can   I   get   involved?

Yes we love fans to get involved in our events, email info@fortheloveofsci-fi.com for more information.

do   celebrity  guests   charge   for   autographs?

Yes they do, For the Love of Sci-Fi does not have any say in this, or gain any revenue from the actors charging for autographs and photos, and is at their own discretion. Signing prices are not included in the entry fee. Occasionally actors will cancel due to work commitments, but this is very rare. We do not accept responsibility for cancellations.

if   I   buy  a   photo   will   it   be   issued   straight   away?

Yes it will. We have a specialist team taking guest photos. When your photo has been taken you will be directed to the designated photo collection point, where your high quality photo will be printed off in less than a few minutes.

can   I   purchase   photos   and   autographs   on   the   day?

You can buy autographs and photos on the day, but some actors may sell out, especially photographs so it is advisable to buy in advance. Anyone who has purchased an autograph ticket will get priority queuing over people paying on the day. The photograph charge is per person. The maximum amount of people allowed in a photo shoot is two. So for example two people can stand either side of the guest, but both people in the shoot will need to pay for a photo ticket. Infants and toddlers between the ages 1-3 years can be included in the picture at no extra cost.

pay  for the  autograph  of  your  favourite  actor  upfront or  in  person

You can purchase an autograph from any of our guests before the event from our website here

You can buy autographs at the table of the guest on the day, but the more popular guests will sell out so it is advised to buy in advance. They also sometimes can increase their price on the day, this is unusual but it can happen, another benefit of buying upfront.

If you pre buy a ticket you will take your eticket to the queue of that guest where it will be scanned and you receive your autograph in person from the guest. If you do not have an eticket you can pay in cash at the guest table. Etickets will take priority over pay on the day.

At the table the guest will have a selection of photographs for you to choose from which they will sign. This photo is included in the price you have paid for the autograph. You can bring in items to be signed, but there may be an extra charge for the signing of premium items. For example, if you pre purchase a £55 ticket for Dolph Lundgren’s autograph, and you then bring in a boxing glove for him to sign, he will charge an extra £10 on top of this as this is a premium item. By getting a glove signed it will increase the value of that item, so this is taken into account. On the other hand if you bring in a picture of your own to get signed, they will not charge you any extra. This is solely at the discretion of the guest at the table. The maximum extra charge for premium items will be £10

Most actors will also sell selfies at their tables; again these are at the actor’s discretion on the day, at the table.

photo  sessions

Get your picture taken with your favourite stars by a professional photographer.

The perfect memento and a real genuine keepsake from the day you got to meet your favourite actor. The photo will be instantly developed for you to walk away with within minutes from our photo studio. No waiting around until the end of the day or for it to be posted to you, it is issued almost instantly on the spot.

Each guest taking part in photo ops will be assigned at least one session per day, the schedule is released around a month before the event. Photo tickets can also be bought on the day if the guest shoot is not sold out.

how  do the  photo  sessions  work?

If you pre buy a ticket you will take your eticket to the photo shoot location which will be advertised on our site map before the event. Session times and locations are announced around a month prior. Your ticket will be scanned and you will join the queue to have your photo taken with the guest. If you do not have an eticket you can pay in cash at this point if the photo session is not sold out.

Your photo will be taken by a professional photographer in front of a backdrop with lighting to ensure the picture is of the best quality possible. You will be standing next to the guest and not have anything else in the picture; this excludes shoots where they are with vehicles or set builds. The picture will be issued within minutes on a 6” by 9” colour photo (not an inkjet print).

is  the  photo  charge  per  person  or  per  group/can   I  have   more   than   one   person   in   a   photo?

The photograph charge is per person. The maximum amount of people allowed in a photo shoot is two. So for example two people can stand either side of the guest, but both people in the shoot will need to pay for a photo ticket. Infants and toddlers between the ages 1-3 years can be included in the picture at no extra cost.

we   reserve   these   rights

FTLOSF reserves the right to refuse anyone from taking part in the photo shoot. If payment has already been taken, we will issue a full refund. We also reserve the right to change the day and times of the photo shoot if it at all becomes necessary, subject to guest changes.

do  I  have to  pay  extra  for  special  guest  panels/q&A  sessions?

No. Special guest panels and Q&A sessions are included in the cost of your entry fee. We would advise you keep an eye on stage times and arrive early before the panel you would like to attend, as we cannot guarantee everyone will get a seat. Disabled, elderly or pregnant customers will have priority. Guests panel times will be announced soon.

does   the   venue   have   disabled   access?

The whole ground floor is wheelchair friendly and has ramps. However the cantina is a functioning bar and is on the first floor. Sadly the venue does not have elevators so the cantina is not accessible. However we will do everything we can to help disabled people up the stairs including those in wheelchairs if they sign a disclaimer to say this is done at their own risk and liability.

is   there   a   quiet   area   for   autistic   children   and   adults?

If all the excitement gets a little too much for you or your child with the noise and crowds, we have hired in an inflatable dome with comfy seating and bean bags for them to relax and calm down. We will also upon request get a costume group member to meet the children on their own in the dome away from the hustle and bustle. We are an autistic friendly event and know how easy it is for some children and adults to experience sensory overloads.

Are   there   changing   areas   for   cosplayers?

We have hired in two inflatable domes to allow people to get changed, a separate changing area for males and one for females. A cloakroom is also provided for valuables, to allow cosplayers to be able to freely walk around the venue in costume. The cloakroom will be charged at £2.

what   is   your   weapons   policy?

Compliance to this policy is mandatory for everybody and no exceptions will be made. Anybody breaking these rules can have their tickets withdrawn with no refund offered. Prohibited items are;

  • Metal blades e.g. swords, razors, axes, and knives. Also corkscrews
  • Real firearms, guns, rifles, or artillery.
  • Gas canisters
  • Heavy bats, paddles or clubs including wooden or metal baseball bats.
  • Bokken- a type of hard wooden (or toughened plastic) training sword.
  • Explosives and incendiary devices.
  • Working strung bows, crossbows, sharp arrows or bolts.
  • Protruding nails or other sharp items
  • Any other items restricted or prohibited from being carried in public by UK law
